Hillside Development Standards
Murrieta just unanimously tightened its hillside building rules, and that matters for Temecula because it signals nearby cities are getting stricter about hillside projects. Old Town hotel extension
A hotel approved in 2018 near City Hall still hasn't been built. The council gave it two more years, but councilmembers pressed the applicant on the eight-year delay, incomplete funding, and steel beams left sitting on the property.
Surplus Land at 44987 Old Town Front Street
The former Arco station site (1.07 acres) is now officially surplus. The state requires the city to offer it first to affordable housing developers and other eligible entities before any sale — no deal has been made yet.
Housing affordability for the local workforce
A fully employed resident told the council her rent is $2,250 while her two recent paychecks totaled about $1,500, asking how full-time workers can afford to live here. She challenged the council to broaden the housing stock.
