Proposed E-Bike Park
A council member's social media post about a possible e-bike park drew sharp pushback from residents questioning how it would be paid for, who'd be liable, and whether it serves more people than other park investments.
New Year's Eve Grape Drop Location
Staff proposed moving the Grape Drop to Promenade Mall, but the council kept it in Old Town, citing tradition and local businesses. The physical grape lowering will likely be replaced by an animated drone show, and the event will end about a half-hour earlier.
Permanent Little League Fields at Ronald Reagan Sports Park
Council Member Kalfus wants permanent fencing for Little League fields at Ronald Reagan Sports Park so youth leagues have a year-round home. Staff will research how converting fields would affect soccer field allocation and whether a partnership agreement with the leagues could work.
Trail Wayfinding Signage Program
The city is installing signs along its four master-planned trail routes, starting with the Temecula Loop Trail. Bike counts jumped 85% between 2017 and 2026, showing residents are using the network heavily. Phase II may add trailhead signs, quarter-mile markers, and QR codes.
September 11th 25th Anniversary Remembrance
The council wants to expand this year's 9/11 remembrance — moving it from the Duck Pond to City Hall with speakers, documentary footage, fire apparatus displays and possible Old Town ties. Staff will bring back a proposal.
Reopening the Old Town chapel for weddings
The renovated chapel next to Sam Hicks Monument Park reopens for small weddings and memorials under a new fee schedule, renamed 'Old Town Temecula Chapel' to avoid confusion with an Orange County venue.
